The End in the #PABudget Stalemate is Near?

There is a possibility that the end of the budget stalemate is near.  Earlier today, I had the opportunity to catch up with a number of legislators and a couple of them believe that the Senate was going to strip the House GOP budget and amend it with the Senate budget, send it back to the House and skip town, leaving it to the House to pass the budget that everyone wants.

Will the House do what it is supposed to do?  That’s remained to be seen, but it appears that the Senate is beginning to start that process.

This evening, the Senate recessed so the Senate Appropriations Committee can strip the language out of House Bill 1460 – the House GOP budget – and amend it with the budget they passed 43-7.  The Senate should be voting on the amended house bill and puts the ball back in the House’s Court.
