Late yesterday afternoon, APSCUF members from East Stroudsburg University began tweeting out the news that their administration plans on laying off up to 30 faculty members. This news follows weeks of public meetings and student protest urging the university president Marcia Welsh not to follow in the footsteps of Clarion, Edinboro, and Mansfield in making dramatic cuts to faculty and academic programs. Yesterday, it was clear that the ESU president chose to ignore those pleas and drop the ax.
We will report more details as soon as we get them.
