Riverdale: Aqua America’s Incarceration of Children (Photos)

This set of photographs chronicles the picnic held June 17th at what is now the corporate-destroyed community of Riverdale, Jersey Shore, PA. The residents and the activists–all of whom acted to resist the seizure of this property for Aqua America’s proposed water withdrawal station were here both to talk about what happened in the course of the police raid and subsequent razing of the park, and to simply be with one another in the effort to understand this obscenity and imagine what moving forward from here looks like. What Aqua America has now constructed is an effective prison–one in which children are forced to live. This is ridiculously wrong, and Aqua America must hear from us: Thier spokesperson is Donna Alston: dpalston@aquaamerica.com/610-645-1095. Please share and call–many times.
