Pennsylvania House Republican John Maher was arrested for driving under the influence on Tuesday, June 13th. We were made aware of this arrest that Tuesday morning, and confirmed who arrested later that week. The charges were initially filed on Monday, June 3, 2017. Maher was arrested across the river in East Pennsboro Township and was charged with making a U turn, driving the wrong way and driving under the influence with his blood alcohol level over 0.16. Representative Maher is the chair of the Environmental Resources and Energy Committee and occasionally steps in for House Speaker Mike Turzai.
