Earlier today, State Representative Leslie Acosta had her microphone cut off during a House State Government Committee hearing on a bill that would make English the official language of Pennsylvania. The disruption occurred early in the hearing when Robert Vandervoot, documented white nationalist, was testifying. Representative Acosta was making a statement and questioning the motivations behind this bill, and she started her statement in Spanish, which did little to please State Representative Daryl Metcalfe.
As reported earlier, this bill was authored by State Representative Ryan Warner and it is aimed to help the state save money by making English the official language on all government documents. There are some exceptions.
