That awkward moment when 15,000 people drop out of workforce & Governor Corbett brags about it.

So this happened today…

But as the Pittsburgh Post Gazette points out, Governor Corbett is absolutely wrong about the jobless numbers.  The post reads:

Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate fell from 7.3 percent in November to 6.9 percent in December even as the state lost 11,400 jobs during the month, the state Department of Labor and Industry reported today

Part of the reason the unemployment rate fell so dramatically, to the lowest level in five years, was that 15,000 people dropped out of the workforce from November to December. In the last 12 months 92,000 people have dropped out of the workforce. (emphasis added)

So basically Governor Corbett is celebrating shitty numbers.  92,000 people dropped out of the workforce in the last 12 months, 15,000 people dropped out last month and 11,400 people lost their jobs.  How many more months until November?
