Pat Toomey Calls PA Supreme Gerrymandering Decision a Partisan Power Grab & Joins Impeachment Conversation

The United States Senator Pat Toomey held a press conference in the Pennsylvania Capitol rotunda this morning to launch a partisan attack against the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s recent Gerrymandering decision.  He immediately began attacking the Pennsylvania Supreme Court by saying that “the [Court] has engaged in a really amazing, highly partisan, unconstitutional power grab.”  At the end of the press conference, Senator Toomey was asked whether or not the Pennsylvania Supreme Court justices who decided to redraw the state’s unconstitutional congressional maps should be impeached.  The Senator replied that it is “inevitable that conversation will happen …., but it’s a conversation to has to happen.”

Senator Toomey spent most of the press conference wagging his thumb, and pocket constitution, at the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and their decision to draw a fair congressional map.   Pennsylvania House Speaker Mike Turzai announced that Speaker Turzai and Senator Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati will file an emergency stay with the Supreme Court of the United States and possibly take action in the Federal Middle Court District.
