Did you hear?!?!
Since the beginning of 2016, nearly 46,000 Pennsylvania Democrats have switched their voter registration to Republican because of a “ditch and switch” movement to presumably support Donald Trump. But should Democrats worry about the movement of Democrats switching parties?
No.
The most reasonable explanation comes from Nathan Benefield – yes, from the conservative Commonwealth Foundation – who pointed out that Democrats actually netted 8,000 more registered voters since the beginning of the year and are still outperforming the Republican Party in all other major voter registration categories.
Benefield wrote:
More than 25,000 Republicans and almost 32,000 “other” switch their registration to Democrat.
Democrats still hold a 965,219 voter registration advantage over Republicans, which is 34,208 less than last year or a 3.4% change in registration.
So please, lets not be worried here folks.
