The Uprising Continues: Thousands Occupy Michgan State Capitol

Readers of Raging Chicken Press will remember that it was the Wisconsin Uprising in early 2011 that became the motivation to start this press. Well, the war on working families has not gone away. The 2012 election may be over, but the right-wing has not slowed their efforts to strip working families of all protections and rights. Now we turn to Michigan, where thousands of people are occupying the state Capitol in the tradition that began that cold winter day in Wisconsin.

Michigan State Representative Brandon Dillon (D-Grand Rapids), spoke out against the GOP’s Right-to-Work-for-Less legislation on the floor of the Michigan House floor yesterday. His speech pretty much sums up why thousands of workers, students, and citizens packed their state Capitol building yesterday facing police violence and pepper spray. Here’s Dillon’s speech:
