#PAGov: Tom Corbett’s $140,000 Name Plate

I am away from my computer and blogging from my tablet and wireless keyboard so please mind the lack of hyperlinks in this blog…

Last week the Pittsburgh Post Gazette released a bombshell story revealling that Governor Tom Corbett’s former education secretary, Ron Tomalis, is a ghost worker in the Pennslyvainia Department of Education.  The former DOE secretary is being paid $140,000 to do….nothing, and when the acting secretary was confronted about this during a local ABC affiliate newsprogram, the acting secretary said that Ronny boy has an office “right down the hall” and Governor Corbett has been feeding that talking point to the media.  Turns out that that’s a bunch of bullshit.  Tomalis has had weeks without meetings or work, no one within the public education or higher education community has seen him at important meetings and best of all, the acting secrtary of education put a nameplate on the door to an empty office to make it appear that Tomalis isn’t wasting our tax dollars.
